Growing.

Our little boy is getting so big.  I just told Dave last night that I think Grayson will be getting himself into a sitting position all by his lonesome pretty soon.  Then I walked into his room this morning and low and behold, he was sitting.  All by himself.  What a big boy!

He is also getting both of his bottom teeth.  We were looking at his gum’s yesterday and his right tooth is breaking through, and you can see that on the left side his gum’s are more transparent, so that tooth is on it’s way in too.  Luckily, they are not interrupting his sleep, though he is a little more fussy when he is awake than usual.  I am sure that it doesn’t help his fussiness that we all have a mild cold again.  Nothing big, but a little bit of a scratchy throat and drippy nose.  No doubt Graysons faucet is caused by a cold and his teeth.  But, he is taking it like a champ.  That’s my boy.

Here are a couple of pics from Mother’s Day.  He was sporting the shoes that his Great Grandma Steele bought him for Christmas.  He really liked them.  He told me so.

Hmm.  What else is new?  He is starting to feed himself those little air puffs that you can buy at the store.  He really likes to do that.  He is also eating a lot of new food, and though I make most of it, he will only eat peas from a jar.  I’ll take what I can get.

A ‘Go Getter’

Baby G has been trying to pull himself up onto things for about four days now.  He hasn’t even tried to put himself into a sitting position on his own, but I guess he is just skipping that step and going for the gold.  Actually, he isn’t even crawling yet.  He doesn’t quite know that he can prop himself up on his arms either.  He is still doing his army crawl on bended elbows.  Despite all of those steps he hasn’t gotten to, he has been seen doing things like this:

(excuse the poor quality- my hand was over the flash.  oops!)

While I am posting pictures, here is one with Grayson sporting his new cloth diaper cover.  Jungle Print.  He’s a wild child…  He’s got Jungle Fever!

For those of you who didn’t get to see Grayson doing this this past weekend…here you go.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

You know that the little man is rolling all over the place now.  This is how it starts.  I lay him on a blanket.  He grabs said blanket, then begins to roll.  And then we end up with something like this.

The baby gate is officially up.  Grayson is just rolling everywhere, and if we want to go down and do laundry, it is now necessary to make sure that the wee little one will not end up on the landing.  The baby gate is really nice (thanks Tom and Barbara), though we are glad that we are skinny people because the opening is not very big.  I do like how you can go though it without taking it down like those wood ones.  We were worried that Diesel would give us trouble over it.  For anyone who has seen him in action, he is a big baby, and gets nervous about new objects in his presence that he is not used to.  It only took Dave five minutes to get him to go through the gate, which was astonishing, and relieving.  He decided he was brave enough to go through it without prompting, or coercion shortly thereafter.  What a brave little doggy.

This is what we woke up to this morning.  Well, Dave is still sleeping.  And I don’t blame him.

Missing Daddy

Both me and the munchkin, that is.

Dave and I have felt a little bit of a sore throat the past two days.  Personally, I have been writing it off to drainage or something since there are no other signs of a head cold.  But I am starting to rethink this as the little one has a case of the cranky’s.  Maybe he’s just missing his poppa.

I can’t wait to be able to take Grayson up to see his grandparents and my brothers family, complete with his big cousins.  Here he is practicing on how to fit in with all the dairy cows.

I think he will do just fine!

Yesterday I heard Grayson wake up from his nap.  When I went to check on him, I found this!  He had rolled himself over while still wrapped in his swaddle!

He is a rolling fool lately.  We think that he finally figured out that he can use it to get where he wants to go.  So when he is spending time on the floor, he rolls over and over, all while keeping his eye on his goal.  Usually, the plastic bag that holds his baby wipes, and electrical cords are the favorites.  Bad baby…

I really need to get hoppin’ on learning this photoshop. I was looking through some of the pictures of Baby G and found a common thread that needs to be hidden if I ever want to print any of these photos. Can you tell me what it is?

Warning: It is gross.

Good grief. I vacuum every other day. And we only have one dog. Seriously. How does this happen?

… and I weigh 14 pounds, 5 ounces (5th percentile)

… and I am 26 inches tall (40th percentile)

… and my head measures 17.75 inches (80th percentile)

… and I have started solid foods … so far, rice cereal and bananas.  Next up, squash

… and I don’t spit up as much anymore

… and I am wearing 3-6 month clothes, which are way to wide for me

… and I am wearing 3-6 month clothes, which are starting to be too short for me

… and I wear size 1 diapers during the day, which still fit great!

… and I wear size 2 or 3 diapers at night because my bladder is outpacing the size of my tush

… and I sleep 11.5 hours every night, rarely waking until after 6 in the morning

… and I go to bed at 7:30

… and I sleep 3 hours for my morning nap

… and I sleep 2 hours for my afternoon nap

… and if I am up past bedtime, I am still very good

… and I chew on my fingers a lot

… but there still are no signs of teeth

… and I kick my legs every second of every minute that I am awake

… sometimes with them both in the air

… sometimes I tap them both on the floor

… and sometimes, I just tap one

… and I smile at all the ladies

… and when I talk, it usually involves screaming

… and I love Diesel, but sometimes get scared of other dogs

… and I really like to try to pull hair

… and I play with my toes at least twice a day

… and this morning, I put my toes into my mouth.  Yummy!

… and I can put my pacifier into my mouth after it falls out

… and I roll over after I am put on my tummy- but I don’t cry anymore

… but I don’t have any interest in crawling yet

… though I practice some pelvic tilts every day.  Just like Suzanne Summers

… and I can sit up better, but I still need a safety net

… and I love to go outside with the nieghbors and watch the kids run around

… which will happen a lot if the weather stays warm

… and I often get compliments on how calm and cute I am

… and I ride in the car like a champ.  Mom says this is wonderful since we have so many long car trips coming soon.

… and anyone can hold me, I don’t mind

… but when I see Mom and Dad, it really makes me smile

… and I have started to talk to my reflection.  It makes me giggle

… and baths make me tired

… and now I am on mostly formula since I am eating

… and I put nearly everything in my mouth

… but I don’t drool very much

… and in case you forgot, this is what I look like
