What I’ve Learned Since Being Home From Work….

My Co-workers really do miss me…

I can learn some basic computer navigation…

We were never home…

Money comes easily…and gets spent just as easily…

Our house was in dire need for some fix-up work…

It takes much longer to do the ‘fix-up work’ than you think it will…

I can still do a lot this late in the baby game…

Sliding glass doors can shatter – rather impressively…

Don’t use the paint that the builder leaves in the house…

  • speaking of, if anyone has any suggestions, please fill me in.  I used the white paint that the builder left- didn’t like it, then had to sand it because it was too glossy so anything I put over it was smearing off.  This AM I tried again with a better paint, and the same thing is happening.  All I can think of is that they thinned it with mineral spirits or something and so there is some chemical reaction going on that is keeping the outer layer from sticking.  Let me know what you think (all of you painting experts).  Oh, and this is only an issue because Dave wanted that darn ‘G’ on the wall!

Drywalling is a rather extensive learning process- but I kind of like it…

If you are home, and the bug guy comes, he will spray the inside for free…

Babies are exciting…

An organized closet can make all the difference in the world…

(yes this is organized, comparatively…)

Well, I really need to get back to work.  Hopefully the blogs will keep on a comin’

  1. My suggestion comes too late which is not to paint anything on the walls but to get board and cut it out, paint it and then hang that up. I don’t know what to do about the other.

What’s the story with the shattered door?

  2. Um….hi…you will probably REGRET the day that you gave me the address to this blog b/c I LOVE to get on blogs ALL the time and write and write and write and write and write and write (and write). YES, girl, you ARE missed by your co-workers! And I can-NOT believe that it has been five weeks already! Um…yeah…aren’t you supposed to be, like, not PAINTING when you’re pregnant. Just kidding. I did it too, and neither of my kids was born with more than one head. You’re probably OK. And, W-O-W is that a BIG “G” on his wall! Cute! (But big…) But CUTE! OK…yeah…so…I’ll have to get Isaac on later to see your baby pictures and your preggie belly picture. He’ll probably blush. We stopped off at work today for a minute, and he acutally WILTED when I told him you wouldn’t be there…that you were home waiting for the baby to come. It really was a physical let-down–his shoulders slumped, his lips frowned, and his head drooped. I think we may have a crush on our hands…tell Dave to watch out…no, just kidding. Isaac is only 4-about-to-be-5…he’s harmless. No really, he is! Love and hugs to you. Please pat your belly in our name! Laura Joback
